Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How fast will I lose weight?
Everybody’s weight losses are different given our differing metabolic make up, size and how much weight we want to lose. Generally, women shed between 7 to 10% body weight in 30 to 40 days while men can lose up to 15%. You will be amazed at how quickly you’ll regain your shape as abnormal fat deposits diminish. Even when the scales may appear to be slowing down weight loss wise, often the tape measure will show how much our body is changing and reshaping itself.
How much water do I need to drink?
You need to drink 3 litres of water per day, which we recommend you try to drink before 6.30 – 7.00 pm at night. This water is required for hydration and to flush out toxins from your body. Your organs, kidneys and skin will love you for it.
Will I be hungry?
You may initially feel hungry in the first 5-7 days but in no time at all your body will adjust to the meal plan and you will soon be feeling amazing. You need to stick to the program 100% of the time as per the approved foods lists and menu plan, or it will impact on how successful you are and how much weight you lose.
Why take supplements, can’t I just do the program?
Nutritional supplements are important to support the body from the beginning of the program. The nutritional supplements assist in providing additional nutrition, maintain energy levels, skin elasticity, and support and heal the gut. It is not healthy or advisable to do a modified calorie plan without taking these supplements.
Can I exercise?
If you don’t normally exercise, it is not recommended you start during this program. Strenuous exercise is not recommended on the modified calorie part of the program (Step 2). It is best to stick to low impact exercise like walking for 20 to 30 minutes a day.
By exercising you burn extra calories which causes hunger and the combination of modified calories and exercise may cause your body to go into starvation mode causing you to hold onto your weight. This may have a negative impact on your stamina, hunger and commitment to the program. So, go easy!!! Normal exercise regimes may be resumed in Step 3.
Will it be sustainable?
During the first two steps (Step 1 and 2) you will learn how to eat correctly. In Stage 3 (Maintenance) we reintroduce dairy, carbohydrates and good fats. You will need to do a minimum of 21 days of maintenance, so you will now be armed with the tools to sustain your losses. If you go back to your old eating habits of over eating and drinking you will certainly regain your weight, but if you work on the 80/20 rule, of eating healthy 80% of the time but 20% of the time having a wee splurge, you should successfully maintain this weight loss. You will also be pleasantly surprised how your food eating habits and tastes change, and your body is more receptive and sensitive to certain foods, and you may no longer like the same foods or the feeling of tiredness or heaviness they cause you.
I have a specific medical condition and I am not sure if the program will suit me?
As with any weight loss program, we highly recommend that you check with your doctor before commencing the program. We are happy to supply you with more details on the program including all fact sheets for the specific supplements that you will be taking, so you and your doctor can read about the supplements before you begin the program.
